Larry radiates confidence, but in a laddish way, as ‘one of the boys’. His grin, usually deployed when delivering a witticism, became a visual motif in the production:

However, Larry’s social roots in the working class occasionally emerged, and he assumed his ‘socially awkward’ pose to draw attention to his embarrassment before snapping back into one of his more familiar postures:
